A simple and visually calm wood. Beech wood is yellowish to pinkish-brown and has very small, evenly distributed pores. The grain is even and inconspicuous. A robust and hard wood that keeps a low profile. Well suited for coloured opaque varnishing.

Plain walnut is mostly free of the lighter sapwood and natural characteristics such as knots and small cracks. Plain and figured grain are combined to achieve a balanced overall appearance.

In walnut with sapwood, the grain in brown nuances is complemented by the lighter sapwood part. The contrast between light and dark brown creates tension.

Wild/knotty walnut has a lively and expressive surface appearance due to small and large knots as well as a distinct grain pattern. This shows a strong grain and dynamic patterning of the wood. Knots and cracks are closed with black resin.

Aluminium is a silvery-white lightweight metal.
